Lucha is working to address friction that prevents catalytic capital from reaching Latin American enterprises at the scale needed by creating The Impact Bridge for LATAM, an automated diligence and underwriting engine alongside new catalytic capital onramps, particularly for non-traditional providers.
Project
Lucha will build, pilot and disseminate a modular operating stack to address two key catalytic capital impediments in Latin America: slow, bespoke due diligence and the absence of standardized, trusted onramps for nontraditional capital providers.
Drawing on Lucha’s direct experience, this new Impact Bridge for LATAM will create an AI-enabled due diligence and underwriting engine to compress the time to an investment decision from more than 200 days, as is typical, to less than 80. It will also design catalytic capital onramps, including a special purpose vehicle (SPV) template to enable low-ticket investments and a cross-border philanthropic blueprint to make it easier for international foundations and DAFs to invest into the region.
Value and Outcomes
This project aims to expand the supply of catalytic capital in Latin America and improve the efficiency of deployment. It converts Lucha’s internal infrastructure—both its experience with cross-border structures and its use of AI in daily operations—into a shared ecosystem infrastructure, working closely with peer intermediaries to develop an implementation kit for broader adoption.
During the project’s 12-month development phase, Lucha expects to generate USD500,000 in committed/deployed capital, as well as attract new providers, intermediaries and deals to the region.
