Convergence is the global network for blended finance, generating blended finance data, intelligence, and deal flow to increase private-sector investment in developing countries. With funding from C3, Convergence created a program of activities to foster connectivity between catalytic investors and development finance institutions (DFIs), which are the biggest investors overall in the developing economies of the world and the most frequent users of blended finance in these same economies.
The work included data briefs on the track record of DFIs in catalytic finance; fostering dialogues and setting out a learning agenda; and supporting investment transactions. “We have drawn on our deep connections in the development finance community to act as a bridge between them and C3 on the critical issue of acting catalytically, of achieving impact beyond any single institution’s own actions,” said Joan Larrea, CEO of Convergence.
